This week, KIMS presented at the Social Performance Task Force (SPTF) and UNHCR co-sponsored webinar series on refugee microfinance. KIMS and its partner American Refugee Committee (ARC) presented the outcomes of its UNHCR Somalia supported refugee returnees programme during 2016-2017 which included a microfinance component to support over 800 refugee returnees coming from Dadaab UNHCR camp in Kenya back to Kismayo, start income generating projects or find work with local fisheries cooperatives.
Justin Sykes, from Innovest Advisory, and Board member of KIMS, spoke on behalf of KIMS Microfinance, accompanied by Abdinur Abdirahman Abdi of the American Refugee Committee (ARC).
